Quality assurance of the environmental monitoring networks
The availability of accurate and reliable environmental data is the key element for a serious environmental policy and for a correct public information. In order to achieve this objective, it is essential to carry out a correct environmental monitoring network management, ensuring the overall quality of the detection process and therefore of the final data.
The monitoring network quality management involves the definition of a Quality Plan organized in three stages:
- Quality assurance of data
- Quality control on the instruments through a documented on-field calibration program
- Quality check through the instrument performance control.
